This class will familiarize the students with basic ethical principles and theories, presenting a six-step guide to ethical decision making for addressing such issues. It will also present the Codes of Conduct for CDMS, CRC, CCM and Addiction Professionals regarding common ethical dilemmas including conflict of interest, dual relationships, patient advocacy and confidentiality for those particular areas of practice. ETHICS APPROVED. This course will define conflicts of interest and present ethical dilemmas inherent when conflict of interest arise. We will present an ethical decision-making tool to recognize and deal with such a dilemmas in your daily practice.

In this course, we provide an overview of dementia and expand our discussion to include specific types of dementia. We will review the different symptoms, testing, diagnosis, and treatment. There are several case studies presented to assist students with those difficult decisions at end of life and the codes of conduct for CDMS, CRC, and Case Management are reviewed in relation to those difficult ethical dilemmas. ETHICS APPROVED. This course will explore the concept of boundaries in the healthcare professions and how these boundaries are violated in the form of dual relationships. Cases studies are presented for the students to discuss. The Codes of Conduct are included in relation to boundaries and dual relationships.

ETHICS APPROVED. This course will present a historical overview of dying in America, as well as the three types of care available in the US today. End of life care will be viewed via the cultural and religious norms, as well as the ethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, and the ethical dilemma of double effect. ETHICS PRE-APPROVED for CCM, CRC, CDMS, CLCP, CVRP, and RRP.

ETHICS APPROVED. Ethics in a Multicultural Context is a practical text and resource book intended to help mental health practitioners and trainees develop ethical decision-making skills which reflect cultural responsiveness. The main focus is ethical decision-making in an applied counseling context. This course is ETHICS PRE-APPROVED for CCM, CRC, CDMS, CLCP, CVRP, and RRP. The CCMC Code of Professional Conduct will be referenced in this presentation.

Updated for 2019! This course will discuss medical marijuana in the US. We will review its legality, the research regarding medical use, and recommendations put forth by government research. The history of marijuana in America will be presented. We will then focus on the difficult issues surrounding the entire situation, including legal, clinical, and ethical. Ethics Approved!

ETHICS APPROVED. This course discusses the difficulty that impaired healthcare workers present to institutions, themselves and patients. We present classic signs of impaired behavior, as well as the responsibility of reporting such behaviors promptly to the proper authorities. *CCM, CRC, CDMS, and CLCP ETHICS CREDIT APPROVED. The CCMC Professional Conduct will be referenced in this presentation.
