Course Description

In this course we will provide a review of the HIPAA law. We will discuss its varying components and considerations with a focus on Workers' Compensation. We will address 2017 updates Including the Office of Civil Rights for 2017 and special circumstances involving HIPAA law, reporting to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), cloud computing and information on the opioid epidemic. We will then provide a review of cultural diversity, outlining different strategies and approaches useful in your daily practice including several case studies to be used as a review for cultural respect.
