Course Overview

Social media and telemedicine are also raising questions regarding privacy and confidentiality. Included are the HIPAA requirements for portable devices. There is a new change to the HIPAA privacy rule that normalizes the electronic health record definition, clarifies privacy practices, provides transparency for access fees, and reaffirms an individual’s access rights.

New to 2024 HIPAA are two changes dealing with telemedicine, as well as a change to modify the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule to strengthen reproductive health care privacy.
