OBJECTIVES
| Define Autism Spectrum Disorders in terms of the following deficits: 1) social interaction, 2) verbal and nonverbal communication, and 3) repetitive behaviors or interests. |
| Evaluate the behavioral characteristics used to make a diagnosis of ASD. |
| Analyze the behaviors and ways of taking in the outside world that distinguish a person with an ASD from his/her "typical" peer. |
| Discuss and integrate into practice the currently known treatments for Autism Spectrum Disorders |
| Construct questions to evaluate the degree of limitation of employees with Asperger's Syndrome and apply accommodations that are appropriate for this employee population |
