This course is Treatment Improvement 59: Improving Cultural Competence, which focuses on the essential ingredients for developing cultural competence as a counselor and for providing culturally responsive services in clinical settings as an organization.
This is part one (of 4) and the test will be on chapters 1, 2, and 3 where we will define cultural competence, present a rationale for pursuing it, and describe the process of becoming responsive to client needs. It also addresses development of cultural awareness and provides guidelines for culturally responsive clinical services, including interviewing skills, assessment practices, and treatment planning.
